23.01.16 ‘Candidate of Sciences’ degree theses defended

From December 23rd to December 25th, 2015, in the framework of the Dissertation Council D 212.267.03 of National Research Tomsk State University, two ‘Candidate of History’ degree theses were defended by LSAR junior research fellows Kseniya A. Zharchinskaya and Anastasia M. Pogorelskaya. 

13.12.15 The December ‘Russian Seasons’ forum

On December 18th and 19th, the ‘Russian Seasons’ forum is to be held in Tomsk. The event is organized by TSU Research Centre ‘Trans-Siberian Scientific Way’.

13.12.15 Proceedings of the school-workshop ‘Migration and the ethnicization of the urban space’ now published

On June 18th – 21st, 2015, the TSU Laboratory for Social and Anthropological Research jointly with the ISU Laboratory of Historical and Political Demography (Irkutsk State University) and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Russia held an international research school-workshop themed ‘Migration and the ethnicization of the urban space’. The results of participants and experts’ joint work are published in the fifth issue of the journal ‘Bulletin of Tomsk State University. History’.

8.12.15 New Russian scientific journal on death studies

In October 2015, a group of independent researchers launched a new scientific journal on death studies, titled ‘The Archaeology of Russian Death’. The journal publishes research in Russian on sociology, social anthropology, language studies and similar areas of the social sciences and humanities knowledge focused on mortality

27.11.15 Interdisciplinary research conference ‘The ethnic and the social: forms of interaction and conflicts’

From February 24th to February 26th, 2016, an interdisciplinary research conference ‘The ethnic and the social: forms of interaction and conflicts’ is to be held at the Institute of History of Saint Petersburg State University (SPSU) within the project “Historia nationem gignit” managed by Doctor of History, Professor at the SPSU Department of the Middle Ages Sergey Egorovich Fyodorov.
