On September 1, we met our first-year students who chose to study in the ‘Anthropology and Ethnology’ programme.

5.08.16 Science in Action

The summer school ‘Science as a Form of Life’ has come to an end. Dedicated to anthropological research on science, it included an empirical stage where the students studied theoretical aspects of research on laboratory life and tried out the method of participant observation watching scientists work at the Kaybasovo scientific research station in the floodplain of the Ob River.

On July 11, the summer school ‘Science as a Form of Life’ welcomed its participants. Among other events planned, the programme of the school includes public lectures.

10.07.16 XII Congress of anthropologists and ethnologists of Russia

On July 3-6, 2017, in the city of Izhevsk, the XII Congress of anthropologists and ethnologists of Russia organized by the Association of anthropologists and ethnologists of Russia is to be held jointly by Udmurtiya Institute of History, Language and Literature (Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences), Udmurtiya State University and Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology (Moscow).

26.06.16 First students majoring in social anthropology defended their qualification theses

On June 23rd, 2016, a significant event took place at the TSU Department of History and the Laboratory for Social and Anthropological Research (LSAR) that is the defense of qualification theses by bachelor students of history who had chosen to specialize in social anthropology.
