On September 15-20, 2014, Research Fellow and Lecturer of Cambridge University Department of Social Anthropology Nikolai Ssorin-Chaikov (PhD in Anthropology) will give open lectures themed ‘Anthropology of post-socialism’ (20 hours in total) at Tomsk State University.

According to the results of the International publications competition held among higher education institutions ‘University Book – 2014: Social Sciences and Humanities’, among the winning publications announced is a monograph by Associate Professor of TSU Department of Russian National History and LSAR Senior Research Fellow Vyacheslav V. Shevtsov.
On September 2-12, at the TSU Laboratory for Social and Anthropological Research, under the project ‘EUinDepth: European identity, cultural diversity and political change’, a group of specialists from Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest will deliver a series of lectures dedicated to the Hungarian cultural identity.
The call for papers for the international research conference “Man in a Changing World. Identity and Social Adaptation in History and Modernity: Methodology, Methods, and Practices of Research”, to be held on October 14-15, 2014, in Tomsk, is now closed. Based on the selection results, a conference programme and a list of participants have been defined.
Russian Association of Anthropologists and Ethnologists, together with Ural Federal University, Institute of History and Archaeology of the RAS Ural Branch, and Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology n.a. Miklukho-Maklai (Russian Academy of Sciences), with support of Sverdlovsk regional administration, will carry out the XI Congress of Anthropologists and Ethnologists of Russia in the city of Yekaterinburg on July 7-10, 2015.
