15.11.15 Anthropology the Swiss way
From 3rd to 18th October 2015, TSU anthropology students Anton Sadyrin and Seil Djanyzakova underwent research training at the University of Zurich (Switzerland), Department of Social Anthropology and Cultural Studies, supervised by Professor Dr. Peter Finke, Head of Department.
On October 16th, 2015, under the project ‘Man in a Changing World. Identity and Social Adaptation : Past and Present’ (Russian Government grant #14.B25.31.0009) there was an international workshop held at TSU titled ‘The organization of teaching social anthropology in higher education system: problems and prospects’. The event took place in the TSU Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of Siberia.
On October 19–22, a lecture course themed ‘Chinese migrants in Russia at the turn of the 19th to the 20th and the 20th to the 21st centuries’ was given by Victor Dyatlov, Doctor of History, Professor of Department of World History and International Relations (Irkutsk State University) at the TSU Laboratory for Social and Anthropological Research.
On October 7th, 2015, the discussion club ‘Interreligious Dialogue’ held a meeting themed ‘Ecumenism in modern society: aims and possibilities’ took place at Tomsk State University with the participation of Martin Tamcke, Professor of the University of Goettingen (Germany).
On October 7th, 2015, a public lecture of Martin Tamcke themed ‘The Western-Eastern Identity? An example of Henry von Heiseler’ was given at TSU. On October 8th, a presentation and discussion of his book ‘Tolstoy’s Religion: a Spiritual Biography’ took place at the TSU Research Library Small Conference Hall.
