April 7-11, 2014, Elena Miskova, Associate Professor of the Department of Ethnology at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, will deliver an open course of lectures on Fundamentals of Applied Anthropology at the Laboratory for Social and Anthropological Research.

On March 19, 2014, Irina Vlasova, Chief Researcher of the Russian People Department at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Science, Doctor of History, Professor, State Prize laureate, Honored Scientist of Russia, passed away suddenly in her 79th year.

On March 20, at 12.25, Ludmila Egorova, Associate Professor and Researcher, Department of History, North-Eastern Federal University (Yakutsk) will deliver an open lecture on Pre-Christian Beliefs of the Yakuts. The lecture will take place in Room 41 (TSU 3rd study building).

March 24-29, 2014, Nicholai Ssorin-Chaikov, PhD in Anthropology, Researcher and Lecturer, of the Department of Social Anthropology, University of Cambridge (UK), will deliver open lectures at TSU organized by the Laboratory for Social and Anthropological Research. Topics of the lecture courses: Anthropology of Gift Giving (10 hours) and Introduction to Visual Anthropology (12 hours).

March 13-14, 2014, Oleg Oberemko, leading researcher at the Center for Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, Assistant Professor of the Department of Sociological Data Collection and Analysis at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (Moscow), will deliver a course of lectures on “Identity Research: Theories and Methods”.
