On March 19-20, 2015, Institute of Social and Political Sciences, Department of Political Science and Sociology of Ural Federal University, Russian Sociological Association, Russian Society of Sociologists will hold the XVIII International conference ‘Culture, Personality, and Society in the Modern World: Methodology and Experience in Empirical Research’, dedicated to the memory of L.N. Kogan.

On April 10-11, 2015, in the framework of the Third Convention of Institute of Social and Political Sciences, an international interdisciplinary conference ‘Identity and Migration in a Changing World: Methodology and Experience in Empirical Research’ will take place in the city of Yekaterinburg.

A call for applications has been launched for the XI Congress of Anthropologists and Ethnologists of Russia to be held in Yekaterinburg on July 7-10. Organizers of the Congress are Association of Anthropologists and Ethnologists of Russia, Institute of History and Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences Ural Branch, Ural Federal University n.a. the First President of Russia Boris N. Eltsin, RAS Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology n.a. N.N. Miklukho-Maklai, and the Sverdlovsk regional government. 

On November 25 – December 6, 2014, Miklós Szabó, Research Fellow of Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest) will give an open seminar themed ‘Russian identity in the context of transformation’ at the Laboratory for Social and Anthropological Research. 

On October 14, the conference ‘Man in a Changing World. Identity and Social Adaptation: Past and Present. Methodology, Methods and Practices of Research’, organized jointly by the Laboratory for Social and Anthropological Research and European Union Centre in Siberia (EUCES), has been opened at Tomsk State University.
