30th Harax Forum
The 30th Harax Forum themed ‘The political space and the social time: identity and everyday life in the structure of the life world’ is to take place in Yalta (Crimea) in May 2016. The event is organized by V.I. Vernadskiy Crimean Federal University, Kuban State University, and Bulgarian Eurasian Research Centre.
The forum aims to discuss the following questions:
- The space and time as political and social phenomena;
- The cultural-symbolic space of the life world’s formation;
- Religious values and their role in the socialization of an individual;
- Civilizational identity in the context of competing geopolitical projects;
- Collective memory and challenges of civil identity;
- The virtualization of everyday life and the construction of a conflict of generations;
- The role of information resources in political mobilization;
- ‘Soft power’ in culture: technologies and counter-technologies;
- The image of enemy and mechanisms of its creation in modern information wars;
- Verbal dimension of the political space and of the social time: texts and what’s behind;
- Economy, politics, law: a dimension of values in modern capitalism;
- The political space and intellectuals: serving the society or the authorities?
- Love and power in the structure of everyday life: from universal meanings to technologies of overcoming enmity and hatred in politics.
In the framework of the forum, themed meetings of the Harax Club will be held as follows:
- ‘The Slavic vector in the cultural-symbolic space of the Russian civilization’.
- ‘The Eurasian project: from theory to practice’.
- ‘Silk Wind’ and ‘New Silk Road’: space and time metamorphoses.
- ‘Orthodox identity and the Crimea’s Byzantine heritage’ (in memory of A.S. Panarin).
Applications for participation and abstracts of papers are to be submitted by 1 March 2016.
