Panel on oral history at XI Congress of anthropologists and ethnologists of Russia
The XI Congress of Russia’s anthropologists and ethnologists will take place in July 2015 in the city of Yekaterinburg and will include a panel titled ‘Oral history as a method and source of ethnographic research and socio-cultural anthropology’. The panel is thought to discuss ethnography and anthropology of contemporary society drawing on individual and collective historical memory using oral historical sources: the published ones, those collected during field research, and the ones created by researchers with the use of questionnaire technologies of oral history – a new method and source for social sciences and the humanities.
