The formation of identities in Russia (Siberia) and East Asian states (China, South Korea, Japan)
The research is carried out into:
- historical, political, ethnic factors underlying identities of different levels;
- ethnic identities of indigenous peoples of Siberia and China, general and specific features of preserving historical memory as a prerequisite for ethnic identity formation;
- the role in and impact of various actors on the construction of identities in modern societies of Russia (Siberia) and East Asian states;
- ways and levels of constructing ethnic, political, regional identities in public policy of Siberia and East Asian states;
- East Asian states’ experience in constructing general civic identity.
