The specifics of formation and evolution of European identity in the context of European integration
Within this particular line of research the mechanisms and ways of constructing different levels of identity in public policy and everyday life on the EU level and through the example of individual EU countries (Great Britain and Germany) are studied. The role of the EU and the Council of Europe in forming the perceptions of all-European history and changing those of national histories through the example of individual countries is looked into. The group carries out the analysis of Europe’s multicultural policy and integration of migrants into the hosting society. The expected research result is the elaboration of a model for comprehensive research into the formation of European identity that would take into account political, historical, social and psychological factors as well as the degree of resilience of supranational identity in multicultural society.
