International academic conference ‘Science in Poland and Russia: similarities and differences’

October 22-23, 2015, an international academic conference titled, ‘Science in Poland and Russia: similarities and differences’ (the humanities), organized by the Warsaw University Institute of Russian Studies, will take place in Warsaw.

Conference’s working languages: Polish, Russian.

The conference aims to: define the ways – joint, parallel, and separate – of development of the humanities in Poland and Russia both in the past and the present, with a particular emphasis put on philology and history, along with auxiliary scientific disciplines; to reconstruct – based on various materials from official documents to nonfiction of personal character – the intellectual life in Poland and Russia as well as the relationship between the Polish and Russian academia in different historical periods.
